Welcome to the Essential Feature of:

PBS Communication

Feature Purpose: Establish and maintain ongoing methods of giving and receiving information.

Feature Outcomes: This means that PBS team representatives relay mission critical information and data in a timely manner to their respective colleagues, and general PBS information is shared across and between all stakeholders (e.g., administrators, certified and non-certified staff, parents, students, the community, etc.), “just in time, just as needed”.

Proficient Level of Implementation is:

·     We regularly and frequently provide PD on PBS essential features based on school needs for all staff. We have  evidence that 80% or more of staff change or maintain implementation of PBS.

·      We have a PBS Team that at least monthly shares PBS team and building information through email, newsletters, staff handbook, morning announcements, bulletin boards and other formats.

·     We have a PBS Team that regularly and frequently seeks and makes timely use of information from all faculty, staff, students and parents to improve implementation of PBS.

·     At least 80% of our teachers consistently include school-wide expectations and classroom information in substitute plans.

Implementation Examples include:

·        PBS on grade level or departmental agendas

·        PBS meeting minutes are taken and distributed in a timely manner

·        PBS is included in home communication tools (e.g., newsletters, webpage, home folders, course

         syllabi, etc.)

·        PBS bulletin board

·        Building PBS signage

·        PBS documents are archived and updated on the teacher share drive

·        PBS information and data are shared at monthly faculty meetings

·        PBS information is included in staff / faculty and student handbooks
