Columbia Public
School Positive
Behavior Support
Coaches Role
Tips for
Coaches:
-
Labeling
-
electronic
and hard
copies of
all files
that your
team/school
has
developed
should have
your
school name
and date
on them!
This makes
sorting
through
electronic
files as
well as
mountains of
paper more
efficient.
-
Three
hole
punching
everything
you pass out
to your team
(or staff)
- this
implies an
expectation
that what
you pass out
is important
and worthy
of filing in
a PBS
binder.
-
Develop
agendas
aligned with
your action
plan or PBS
goals for
the year
- this will
help ensure
that your
team spends
adequate
time on
"fire
prevention"
and not just
on "fire
fighting".
-
Send your
PBS agendas
out prior to
meeting
- this lets
people know
what will be
covered,
what they
might be
responsible
for doing
(e.g., tally
surveys,
bring the
completed
Big Five
data report
for the
month)
before the
meeting, and
what they
are expected
to bring
(e.g., their
PBS binder,
completed
work or
tasks).
