There are nine Essential Features (EFs) of Universal PBS (the bottom portion of the PBS pyramid). When PBS buildings start with a well designed action plan that includes all of the EFs , and then implement the PBS plan with consistency across all staff and all settings throughout the academic year, they can anticipate an increase appropriate behaviors and academic learning time, decrease problem behaviors, and ultimately increase academic achievement.

Creating Your Classroom Routines: this document pre-corrects teachers from elementary to secondary to consider the MANY routines they will need to teach ALL their students regardless of age and/or grade level to increase the efficiency of instructional time.
