Welcome to Classroom  PBS

 

There are nine Essential Features (EFs) of Universal PBS (the bottom portion of the PBS pyramid)When PBS buildings start with a well designed action plan that includes all of the EFs , and then implement the PBS  plan with consistency across all staff and all settings throughout the academic year, they can anticipate an  increase appropriate behaviors and academic learning time, decrease problem behaviors, and ultimately increase academic achievement.

Science of Behavior Table for Classroom Planning: this document allows classroom educators to develop a plan to help meet the targeted student behaviors by outlining the setting events, triggers and consequences necessary to set the occasion for, and increase the future likelihood that the behaviors will occur.

Creating Your Classroom Routines: this document pre-corrects teachers from elementary to secondary to consider the MANY routines they will need to teach ALL their students regardless of age and/or grade level to increase the efficiency of instructional time. Teachers can save this word document and then type in the routines they plan to use/teach before the school year begins.  Then they can  use the list as a way to document that they have taught the routines.

Feedback Planning Worksheet: Teachers can plan how they will tie their classroom feedback system to the school-wide system, how they will ensure that the work towards a 4:1 positive to negative ratio, and finally they can plan how the class will set goals and celebrate once goals are achieved.

CPS Classroom Universals Inventory Form V- a form for teacher self reflection, or for classroom observation that focuses on research based effective instructional practices in the areas of; classroom organization, use of time, student attention, behavior management, use of routines and content, curriculum and delivery.
