Columbia Public School Bus Rider Expectations:
I am Safe…
I keep my hands,
feet and belongings to myself and out of the aisle
I stay seated and
facing forward
I am Respectful…
I use an inside
voice
I use kind words
I listen to the
bus driver
I do not eat,
drink or chew gum
To provide consistency across buildings and buses,
districtwide bus riding expectations listed above have been
developed. Check out the resources below to help teach student
riders how to be safe and respectful on the bus ride to and from
school each day.
Essential Features Planning Sheet:
This is an example of some steps a PBS team might take to
address all the PBS Essential Features for bus. This is not an
exhaustive list.

Social Stories have been written for use whole class at the
beginning of the year to teach and/or review the exemplars of
the school PBS Expectations in a variety of settings. These
Social Stories are also an excellent resource for re-teaching to
small groups or individual students as needed.
(Note the images
make these social stories files openly VERY slowly!)
