PTSO Programs and Events

AWARD PLAQUE- Award plaques are given for citizenship and academic achievement at the end of the year as recognition for selected graduating Shepard students. Names are also displayed in the main lobby. (June)
BIRTHDAY RECOGNITION - Unique display of student birthdays created by a PTSO volunteer and displayed in the school lobby. (all year)
BOOK FAIR - Profits go toward the technology fund, playground equipment or other items, as needed by the school. (November and Late February or Early March)
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION - Cereal box tops from General Mills are collected for money, to be used to purchase needed educational supplies for Shepard. (all year)
CLASSROOM ENRICHMENT - PTSO provides funds for teachers to use towards materials to enhance individual classrooms. (August/September)
CULTURAL EVENTS - PTSO provides funding to help promote cultural awareness among our students. (all year)
CURRICULUM NIGHT - This night includes PTSO membership drive, approval of PTSO budget and time for parents to visit classrooms and learn about expectations. (September)
FIFTH GRADE GRADUATION - PTSO provides funds for the ceremony and the following celebration. (June)
FUNDRAISING - Profits from various fund-raising activities go toward the technology fund, playground equipment, or other items as needed by the school. (all year)
HOSPITALITY - PTSO volunteers sponsor special events at Shepard such as our Open House and Grandparents Day. PTSO funds provide the refreshments. (October)
