Elluminate Live

Elluminate Live is on online program that allows you to communicate with people virtually.  You can talk, share files, message, use video and even show your computer.  It is great for students but not limited to that usage.  Link is located through Angel.

  • Must go through CPS district PD training in order to use.
  • Dennis is approved to provide Elluminate training.
  • Even if we no longer use Angel, Elluminate Live is still a program we can use since it is not an Angel specific program.
  • Program is Free
  • Can work with students/peers/parents/anyone from the convience of wherever you are as long as you have internet. 
  • Works best if you have microphone, and possibly an airliner or something to write with

Wordle

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

  • Program is free.
  • Can share with anyone, anywhere.
  • Very easy to use.
  • All final products are published to the internet.
  • There is no way to search this program for past work. Must have link.

Prezi

Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software that opens up a new world between whiteboards and slides. The zoomable canvas makes it fun to explore ideas and the connections between them. The result: visually captivating presentations that lead your audience down a path of discovery.

  • Is reliant on the speed of the internet. 
  • Program is Free but you can get an educators version for $50 a year. (This means you can download the prezi’s to your computer and not rely on internet availability.)
  • Can make non-linear presentations and embed videos easily into program.
  • No training required.
  • Lots of help videos and templates available.
  • Cannot draw on presentation like a smart board.

Google Survey

This is one of the many free tools given to a gmail member.  You can create and send polls, questionnaires and other surveys through google docs and then when the survey is taken the data is sent directly to your account.  You can share this information to whomever you’d like by sharing the link.

  • Free with gmail account.
  • No training required.
  • Lots of help videos and templates available.
  • No limit to how many you survey or time limit on how long the survey can be completed.
  • Formatting is easy but limited at times.
