Rock Bridge Reaches Out is a student run club working to "reach out" to the community by encouraging students to volunteer around Columbia. RBRO is organized into several core groups, each working with a different organization. By giving back to the community you can help others while gaining a sense of self-fulfillment. See the descriptions below to get involved in a group that interests you.
Boone Landing
Boone Landing is a recently opened independent living facility. At Boone Landing, students will help elderly retirees use computers. Volunteers will set up E-mail accounts and assist residents as they use the Internet. This is a great way to share your knowledge of technology and work with people as you build friendships with Boone Landing residents. Contact a core leader for more information or to sign up.

At Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center, horseback-riding therapy is provided to children and adults with disabilities. Volunteers will work as side walkers, to assist the riders, and leaders who guide the horses. Volunteering at Cedar Creek is a lot of fun. Working outside with the animals and building meaningful relationships with the riders makes it a great experience. No previous horse experience is required. As a Cedar Creek volunteer you must attend the training session Tuesday, September 12 th from 6-8 pm. Volunteers will sign up for a weekly timeslot at the training session. The fall session runs from Wednesday, September 13 th to Saturday, November 4 th . Spring session dates, including a second training session will be announced later. Central Missouri Food Bank
At the Central Missouri Food Bank RBRO volunteers will help those in need by assisting in various jobs. Volunteers will help by packaging donated food and boxing items to be taken to The Food Pantry. Volunteers will work at The Food Bank twice monthly. Volunteering at The Central Missouri Food Bank is a great way to give back to the community while spending time with friends as you help get food to Columbians who need it. Family Health Center-
At the family Health Center volunteers are always needed for a variety of tasks. As a volunteer at the Family Heath Center you will enter data into computers and help organize information for countless patients. This is a great service that is really helpful and fun. Project Linus
The goal at Project Linus is to provide handmade blankets for children who are ill, traumatized, and in need. Volunteers can help by making blankets, sewing Project Linus labels onto finished blankets, and assisting in delivery and pick up. By volunteering at Project Linus you can feel good knowing that you have given countless children their own handmade blanket, a comfort for many who are seriously ill or in need. Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald house provides a home away from home for families with children in Columbia Hospitals. As a RBRO Ronald McDonald House volunteer, you will provide meals for these families once monthly. Volunteers will meet after school at either the core leader's house or a house of another volunteer to prepare a meal. The meal must be delivered by 6:00 pm that evening. Having a great time cooking with friends and helping to provide these families with support are just a few of the benefits of being a Ronald McDonald House volunteer. Wheelers and Dealers
If you like to play games then Wheelers and Dealers is a perfect group to volunteer with. Volunteers with Wheelers and Dealers will visit Bluff Creek assisted living center Tuesdays and Thursdays to play games with the residents.
