The 2011-12 enrollment at Shepard is 549.

All fifth-grade students at Shepard utilize Senteo individual, interactive response clickers to participate in regular, real-time, authentic assessment.

Shepard is a nationally recognized LEADER IN ME school. The LEADER IN ME receives national recognition for its emphasis on developing leadership in young children. The principles of this work are from Dr. Stephen R. Covey, author of the 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE. These principles teach habits that develop the whole child to become leaders immediately in preparation for their many opportunities to be leaders tomorrow.
