| Basic instructions:
Grade level: 5 - 8 Time frame: 5 to 7 weeks Helpful Hints: 1. Print off the scoring guides 2. Print off the ethnic form for parents to send home in the first week 3. Print off the research forms 4. Group students based on their ethnic forms into groups of four by country or by continent 5. Schedule the International Cultural Exchange Conference at beginning of the unit The Conference: Scheduled at the end of the unit, groups of students present their findings of their cultural contributions. Students set up displays that include cultural songs, dress, food, dances, or games from their country. Recources needed: 1. Have additional resources available (ex.: encyclopedias, maps, textbooks) 2. Trade books on individual countries 3. Library books with a collection of folktales 4. A recommended map resource book: Super Book of Outline Maps, Publisher: Scholastic Professional Books 2000. Suggestions for foundation skills to be taught prior to WebQuest: 1.
