3. Pick a type of constellation to design. It can be a person, animal, or another object.
4. Every constellation has a story, so begin thinking about why you chose your constellation to be a constellation. What did your constellation do? What's the story behind it?
5. Using a page in your writer's notebook:
1. Draw a rough draft of your constellation. Here's the hard part: you can't use any more than 20 stars to make your constellation!
2. Write a short story about how it came to be.
6. Ask your teacher for a black piece of construction paper and a white or gray crayon.
1. Fold your construction paper in half (like a hamburger).Congratulations! You're a world class astronomer!!
2. Pretend it's a card and turn it so the fold is at the top.
3. On the cover draw (with crayon) your constellation without lines connecting the stars.
4. Open your card. On the top half, write your final draft of your constellation story.
5. On the bottom half, draw your constellation using lines to connect the stars.
6. On the back of your constellation card write your name.
