Volunteering In CPS
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Columbia Public Schools. No matter what your interests, there's something for everyone in our volunteer program. With 34 facilities, the Columbia Public School District offers something for every volunteer's interest.
Can you imagine a more rewarding experience than helping
children learn and grow into responsible community members?
You have the heart and vision to be an integral part of Columbia
Public Schools. We welcome you to an experience that will
enrich your life and the lives of the students and teachers you will
impact. Whether you want to exercise your green thumb, coach a
soccer team, read to children, or paint a picture we can place you
in a volunteer assignment that you'll enjoy.
Columbia Public School volunteers are part of the school team which consists of a teacher(s), administrator(s) and the Building Volunteer Coordinator (BVC). (Building Volunteer Coordinators are volunteers who coordinate volunteer efforts at individual buildings.) As a part of this team, volunteers have the flexibility and freedom to design activities around specific interests, abilities, and skills.
Parents, grandparents, senior citizens, business partners, university and college students, and community members enrich school district programs by increasing productivity and effectiveness. Volunteers provide students with positive role models and build a link between schools and communities.
