This is the time of year many of you begin asking
your parent educator for a list of age appropriate toys to add to your
holiday shopping list. Without question, YOU are your child’s favorite
toy and best playmate. Our newsletter this month focuses on providing
your child a safe home environment. Toy safety should be a goal for all
parents.
Anyone who reads the paper, watches the news or listens to the radio
will know that there have been many toy recalls in recent months due to
concerns about lead and toys with small parts that end up as choking
hazards. Safe toys for young children should be well-made, no sharp
parts, splinters or hinges that could pinch small fingers. They should
