Dear Parents ...

Hooray for Daylight Savings Time! Although it will be darker when we rise, the added hours of daylight in the evening are a welcome gift. In many neighborhoods the residents begin to appear from a long winter season of staying indoors. Now we greet each other regularly as we spend time outdoors in the evening watching our children play, doing necessary yard work, or taking our children and pets for a walk.
As you read through this issue of our newsletter you will see that most of our events in the next few months will be held outside. Longer hours of daylight allow for us to provide your family with some of our most popular events. Tons of Trucks, Down on the Farm and Messy Night are just waiting for you and your child to GET OUT AND ABOUT.

Please note that Tons of Trucks takes place rain or shine. As always, we have arranged rain dates for both Down on the Farm and Messy Night in case of poor weather.
We also encourage every PAT family to GET OUT AND ABOUT and vote on April 8, 2008. Remember, Parents As Teachers is a Columbia Public Schools program and even though many of you may not have children enrolled in school, you are receiving services from the Columbia Public Schools. I encourage you to read the insert on the upcoming Tax Levy proposal to answer any questions you may have regarding this very important issue.
Enjoy longer days and warmer weather by GETTING OUT AND ABOUT!
