Important information as you get started with Outlook

  • Settings: Many settings (such as requesting a read reciept, your signature etc.) are machine specific and tied to your login on the specific machine your are logged into.
  • Confidentiality: Once you have configured Outlook for a computer, all subsequent logins for you on that computer will automatically log you in to Outlook. There will be no password prompt to access your email. Please remember to use good confidentiality practices by locking your computer (Ctrl+alt+Delete- then select Lock Workstation) whenever you leave your computer unattended.
  • Distribution Lists: Be sure you are not using outdated distribution lists that were copied from Groupwise. Distributions lists that were copied are no longer connected to the original author and changes will not be updated and will need to be deleted and re-shared.
  • Accessing Groupwise: Starting August 14th, every building will have 1 machine from which Groupwise can be accessed. You will not be able to send or recieve email from Groupwise, however you will be able to access your old contacts, calendars, and/or email that may not have been brought into Outlook
