Nirvana : Incesticide

Genre: Rock and Roll

Dates: 1992

You don't need me to tell you about Nirvana. All I have to say is, ignore the backlashers who say they were overrated and undertalented. I actually ordered their best-of for the collection, and the distributor mistakenly sent me this; I kept it, because it's the one Nirvana release even Hickman fans may have missed. It's a collection of early singles ("Sliver," a harrowing tale of childhood abandonment and panic, is certainly one of Cobain's greatest and most linearly-written songs), inspired goofs, and covers of their heroes ("Molly's Lips" and "Son of a Gun," by criminally forgotten Scottish iconoclasts the Vaselines; "Turnaround" by none other than Devo). Essential, particularly if you've never been able to get enough of this group and you couldn't afford the box set.
