Mark Chesnutt : Greatest Hits |
Genre: Country |
Dates: 1990-1996 |
Chesnutt’s one of the last of the neo-traditionalists, and the man can pick great songs by others as well as write his own. “Bubba Shot the Jukebox” is an all-time classic that any hardcore honky-tonker will instantly understand, and many others resonate with working-class frustration—though, curiously, golf is mentioned. Chestnutt is one of the exceptions that proves the recent rule that modern country music isn’t really country.
