LCD Soundsystem : The Sound of Silver

Genre: Electronic/Dance

Dates: 2007

The beat of any night at the club, married to the staying power of a confessional rock album, The Sound of Silver is a worthy melding of these two overused musical agendas.  James Murphy is 38 years old, but he remains in tune with what the younger generation wants to hear.  “Get Innocuous!” is a bass thumping party starter, while “All My Friends” turns Murphy into the mature soul he (likely) has become after his days of New York nightlife.  Silver is about as grown-up as a dance album can get, but still (perhaps inevitably) isn’t any older than 30.  (Review by Jon Hadusek)
