You may be just a landlocked Show-Me-Stater, true, but put this disc in the player, don your headphones, and close your eyes, and before you know it you'll be catching some major waves in your imagination, dude (and remember: Brian Wilson never surfed, either)! This compilation cheats the Beach Boys, which we'll rectify with a future addition to our inventory, but it gives you all the Jan & Dean you really need, every essential surf instro (other than the Chantays' "Pipeline") plus some terrific obscurities, and Dick Dale and the Del-Tones' strangely frightening (a tidal wave over the horizon?) "Miserlou." Cowabunga!
