Cornershop: When I Was Born for the Seventh Time |
Genre: World Rock |
Dates: 1997 |
Tjinder Singh created something extremely fresh with Cornershop’s combo of rock and roll, Indian rhythms, and dance music; in fact, I’d say he was quite prescient, though unfortunately (despite a solid second album), he stood still in that open door too long and got run over. Highly recommended to fans of international rock experimentation, especially those that like both the Beatles and the Velvets, whose audioprints are discernible throughout.
