The Byrds : Greatest Hits

Genre: Folk Rock

Dates: 1964-1966

One of the very first American rock and roll bands to catch the drift of both Bob Dylan and the Beatles, Roger McGuinn and Co. married the two before they began to influence each other. The result was a music of magical lyricism and melody—until "Eight Miles High," when they married rock and roll to John Coltrane. Top 40 radio's never caught up.
