The Beatles : 1

Genre: Rock and Roll

Dates: 1963-1970

Ideally, we'd own all of the Fab Four's studio releases, but since we've got a lot of ground to cover and finite funding, this tidy collection will have to fill your needs for now. All the group did was restore our own neglected roots, define the limits and possibilities of modern pop songwriting and singing, snap the country out of post-assassination shock, claim rock and roll as art, run wild with studio experimentation, unify the masses for the second round of a cultural revolution initially triggered by Elvis Presley, sock home a flood of hit records, and charm the pants off the world. And I'm sure I'm leaving something out.
