Animal Collective : Strawberry Jam

I used to hate trying to explain Animal Collective.  Even I wasn’t completely convinced on their disfigured, tribal folk music, though my message board counterparts bitterly disagreed—until 2007’s Strawberry Jam.  It’s still weird as hell, but they make it easier to digest.  Dedicated followers of the experimental music trend would barely consider this as part of the upper echelon, but it’s a good starting spot for people who are virgins to the sound of river water, untuned acoustics, and off-beat yelling.
