The survey developed by the Community
Engagement Task Force was quite extensive in relation to school
district operations and facilities. The results reported under
questions related to building characteristics, questions related to
equitable resources, questions related to grade configuration, and
questions related to specialized instructional space deal with
specific items being discussed by the Long-range Facilities Planning
Committee.
When viewing the results, you will
find that many are two-part questions--that is, respondents were asked
to rate the importance of an item to effectively teach their children,
and they were also asked to rate how we are doing in that area. These
types of items are numbered 1 and 1a, with the numeral representing
respondents' evaluation of the importance of the item, and the numeral
plus alpha representing how we are doing. In addition, many of the
questions are also shown with a mean and median score of financial
priority. Finally, the questions related to grade configuration are
labeled, and you will need to look at the legend on each question to
determine the meaning of the responses.
