All staff members who work 35 hours or more per week, other than individuals employed on a temporary basis will receive board paid medical, dental, and life insurance. Staff members working 25 to 34 hours per week may elect to purchase medical and life, and/or dental insurance at the current group rates. The District will pay a pro-rated portion of the premiums for part-time employees enrolling in the benefit plans. Dependent coverage is available at the expense of the employee (see enrollment guidelines for enrolling dependents after the first 31 days of employment). |
Employees are required to report all injuries and incidents that occur while on the job to their supervisor and to the Business Services office immediately. Contact Employee Benefits at 214-3710 to report all injuries. An employee injured on the job and requiring medical attention must go to Urgent Care Center, located in the University Physicians Medical Building, next to the UMC Hospital & Clinics. The District does not pay for claims for any other provider.

An employee's payroll check may be directly deposited to the bank, credit union, or savings and loan of the employee's choice. |
Full-time staff members earn one (1) day of sick leave at the end of each full month of employment. Part-time staff members earn sick leave at the end of each full month of employment in proportion to the percentage of time for which they are employed. Full-time teachers receive nine (9) days at the start of the school year. Part-time teachers receive a percentage of the nine (9) days in proportion to their FTE. Teachers who start after the beginning of the school year receive a prorated number of days at the start of their contract. Teachers who terminate during the year will have their sick days adjusted to reflect the actual time employed and leave earned.
|
Full-time, twelve month employees earn one (1) day of vacation at the end of each full month of employment. Part-time twelve month employees earn vacation at the end of each full month of employment in proportion to the percentage of time for which they are employed. |
Full-time employees receive three (3) paid personal days at the beginning of each school year. Part-time employees receive a percentage of the same leave in proportion to their full-time equivalency. Personal days do not accumulate from year to year. Any unused paid personal days will convert to sick leave.
