Experience
Dr. Chris Belcher has 28 years of experience working in education.
He has served as a biology/chemistry teacher, secondary assistant
principal, central office administrator, college professor, asnd
superintendent. Dr. Belcher has also served as an educational
consultant to many public schools and the Missouri Department of
Elementary and Secondary Education.
Awards and Recognitions
Dr. Belcher has received a number of awards and recognitions,
including Missouri State Teachers Association Administrator of the
Year, the Blue Springs Jaycees Outstanding Young Educator Award, and
the Peters Memorial Graduate Student Scholarship Award.
Community and Professional Involvement
Dr. Belcher is active in the Northwest Rotary Club and on the board
of the Boy Scouts of America, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, and
United Way; is active on professional boards that serve Missouri
schools, and belongs to many educational organizations.
Family and Personal Interests
Dr. Belcher has been married to Jackie for 28 years and has a
20-year-old daughter, Alex, who attends MU. He and his wife enjoy
travel, exercise, reading, and music (Dr. Belcher is a known rabid
blues fan!).
